I should’ve just shuffled this into the last post of this kind, but eh… This time around we have J Cole paying tribute to Hov (Dead Presidents x PSA), XV to Warren G (Regulate) and Mickey Factz for Slick Rick (Children’s Story) and of course all performances are followed by some of the dude’s solo cuts… Continue reading
It’s been a minute since I’ve heard anything new from Mickey. Does anyone else agree with me when I say that he should definitely bring back The Leaks? It was quality on every track…

A Brave New World is the soundtrack for the story of Gommi Arcadian, a citizen of a city-nation called Neo-Tokyo, in the year 2025. Produced by GFCnewyork, it’s a sonic expession of the Gommi Arcade brand. Full of sci-fi film references and futuristic sounds the score is a daring execution of evolved, thought-provoking music featuring a host of bubbling artists such as Mickey Factz, Theophilus London, CurT@!n$, Jade and more. Collectively, it pushes hip-hop forward into the electronic realm, dabbling in rock and R&B as well. The result is an adventurous stream of cinematic sounds made for A Brave New World.
Shouts to Mickey for this. Kind of a weird concept, but GFCnewyork is doing what they do best, putting out dope music and pushing boundaries. With features from Mickey Factz, Theophilus London, CurT@!n$ and more you surely can’t go wrong…

Mickey Factz passed through my show on 1xtra and blacked out, hard. He kinda kills it, goes in, smacks it, etc. He sharpens his blade across Hip-Hop, Dubstep, and Funky House. Not many MC’s can do this. Seriously, aside from Asher Roth and a few others, very few people can actually freestyle live on air. Pre-written stuff is cool, etc. but you would be suprised at how many people ‘don’t feel well’, or ‘have a cold’, or ‘are tired’ when asked if they want to grab the mic.
SoulCulture caught up with Mickey Factz backstage at Scala before his TRAPSTAR show in London this week. Highlighted last winter by XXL magazine as one of the “Class of 2009″ to watch out for, Factz discusses the subsequent highlights of his career, perfecting his album (set for 2010 release) and being true to self. In light of last week’s rumours flying around regarding an alleged altercation backstage at Rock The Bells involving Joe Budden and Raekwon, we had to ask what really went down…
We all die. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.

Shouts to Mickey for sending this footage of Mickey, Lupe and The Cool Kids hanging out in Tokyo. After the jump you can check some footage of dudes backstage and live performances… Continue reading
