It wouldn’t matter the price of this show, that line up is worth any amount of money. I swetugaud, Kweli needs to be coming to Winnipeg soon.

… and takes shots @ Jay Leno. Well said, Dante.
We took Mos Def on a post Katrina tour of New Orleans, and he shares some wise words. Our tribute to our New Orleans family. Four years after Katrina and we’re still fighting…
If it’s live audio in ridiculous quality, chances are ItsAllTheWayLive had something to do with it. Mos Def recently took the stage at the Newport Jazz Festival, backed by his band of Chris “Daddy” Dave, Robert Glasper, Casey Benjamin, Derrick Hodge, a 5-piece strings section and a trio of horns which make The Watermelon Syndicate.

*wilds the fuck out at the thought of how dope a CDQ would be
Sigh…
*waits patiently for it to drop…
The mixtape (click to download) has been composed so vivid that it plays as a true-life movie in the making. They touch on topics that address everything from self-preservation to US economics. Controversy still surrounds the NY based rap group, A-Alikes, ever since they openly admitted to the FCC about infiltrating several radio stations across the US just last month with a special uncensored message. DJ Victorious seamlessly incorporated excerpt of these recordings into the project. Raye 6, I.G. and Afayah, Checkmate, Tahir, DJ Butta, and even Kanye West offered their talent to this latest release.
In this video we see Might Mos doing a cover of Billie Jean as a tribute to the late great King of Pop.
DJ Honda and Mighty Mos link up again almost 11 years later for a joint that will be appearing on DJ Honda’s upcoming album, IV, dropping on August 5th.

… for a track called Magnetic Arts off of DJ Honda’s upcoming album IV. A classic was produced last time the two got together, sounds like we got another one.
Mos speaks on the ridiculous battle that my partner in crime posted about in one of his (very few) posts (shots fired, sorry bruther) Mos Def wants to recruit Black Thought, DOOM, Jay Electronica and Nas for his team against Jay-Z or Kanye along with any other MCs of their choice in New Orleans in December. I would really like to see this go down.
The dude is on Fire as of late and his latest effort is a problem so I decieded to pack all the Mos Def news into one post.
A little while ago Mos was wildin’ in the streets talking he can out (basically) any rapper in a battle. Well it seems it was more then just ranting on a recent interview with Angie over at hot he laid out his terms.
He explains he wants this to happen in New Orleans Dec 30-31 for charity:
2 Marching Bands (Morgan State vs. Grambling)
2 DJs (Kid Capri vs Biz Markie)
2 Breaker Crew (Korea vs. France)
2 Battles of The Beats (Kanye vs Swizz)
5 Man Rap Team Battle
Captain: Mos Def & his partners: Black Thought, MF Doom, Jay Electronica and Nas
Vs.
Captain: Jay-Z or Kanye and either one’s four.
For rap supremacy!
10 Million Pot. 5 Mil To Charity.

So incase you didn’t know (like Rocsi…) Mos Def will be dropping his album The Ecstatic tommorrow so in light of that, the homies over @ RubyHornet decided to drop a bootleg album chalk full of dope Mighty Mos material, check what they had to say…
… My daily trips to Dr. Wax always included a stop at the Mos Def section hoping to see something new, rare, or unreleased. One such trip turned up profitable, as I came across The Underground Album, which at the time I thought was some crazy limited release or something in my excitement. Obviously, it’s more of a collection of tracks that someone put together, ran off with their CD burner and took to mom and pop stores as an official bootleg. Anyway, the tracks are still dope, and in honor of the new release we offer up The Mighty Mos Def: The Underground Album
Download x Tracklist after the jump… Continue reading
I find this really hard to believe, but Mos did it. First off Mos kicks a dope freestyle (off the top, mind you) to a classic GZA instrumental, Liquid Swords, and has a little interview afterwards… smh @ Rocsi not even knowing when Mos’ album drops and smh @ the fact that more than half the people in there probably didn’t even know that GZA beat…
Finally! A Blackstar reunion track, but this J Dilla produced track will he appearing on Mos Def’s upcoming album, The Ecstatic. EDIT: You can hit the jump to peep some footage of Mos hearing some new Self Scientific material after the jump…

Shouts to Rap Radar for a slew of dope footage, not taking anything away YN, so we’ll just link to his site as apposed to posting the videos after the jump, above we have Mos & Kwa rocking out to Definition and RE:Definition you can peep the rest by clicking here. Sidebar: Anyone who attended the show got a chance to cop a dope tee by Rocksmith (aka my wardrobe) peep it by clicking here.
Well, that was quick. Visuals added to the most recent leak off of Mos Def’s The Ecstatic less than a week later. I went back a listened to Mos & Kweli’s Blackstar recently, and it’s got my expectations for the album high, now I won’t be suprised if they’re dashed but with everything thats been dropping from Dante, I’d say that my hopes are still in tact…
Been waiting on the final version of this ever since he performed it live that one time, well here it finally is, oh and…
The Ecstatic drops June 9th. Guests include Talib Kweli and Slick Rick. Production from Oh No, Chad Hugo, Mad Lib, Mr. Flash, DJ Preservation, J Dilla and Georgia Anne Muldrow.

Oh no, It can’t be… You can expect a couple more G.O.O.D Music-related posts to come your way because we’ve got some shit lined up. Unrelated sidebar: I wish I could explain to you why we’re slacking so much, but the truth is that I can’t you’ll just have to wait and see…

Flaco, The Ecstatic due June 9th
I actually laughed out loud when I saw this. Culture Capture Champs catch up with Mos Def during an Ecstatic studio session and Mos goes IN on some DOOM shit, hahah. You can tell dude is a real fan, as everyone should be because DOOM is way iller than he gets credit for. Born Like This & The Ecstatic, two albums to REALLLY look forward to. Btw, I agree w/ Mos 1000000% on the DOOM vs Wayne comment.
