Video | The Kid Daytona feat. Bun B – “Air Born”

Last week I shot the Air Born video for The Kid Daytona featuring Bun B. The beat which is produced by 6th Sense has this real mellow floaty vibe to it so I knew I wanted to shoot the majority of this video with someone or something floating in midair. Since shooting in outerspace wasn’t in the budget, I had to settle for NYC. Luckily, Daytona knew someone here on earth that could defy gravity for us, EBC star Africa. We shot the whole video at a little park downtown, no permits. Aside from having to work around screaming kids at camp, and a basketball leagues scheduled game everything went surprisingly smooth. Daytona and Bun B are two of the nicest and most laid back artists I have ever worked with. Shout outs to the Three/21 fam Rik, Nancy and Steve, Jamal, Owen, Jordan at Sneaktip, Dan, Evan, and of course Daytona, Bun B, 6th and Africa.

EBC (Entertainer’s Basketball Classic) star, Africa defies gravity in the latest Derek Pike directed music video for The Kid Daytona and Bun B titled “Air Born” off Daytona’s album “Come Fly With Me”. And yes Africa does make those dunks, you will just have to wait for the video to see them. Video drops sooner than you think and I must admit, our young gunner Derek is quickly proving himself to be one of the next prolific artists from the Three/21 camp.

I got together with some of my favorite producers and emcees and came up with a Mick Boogie classic! Bun B is a living legend… There for it was an honor to work with him, truly. I met him @ SXSW, one of the coolest dudes ever! He let me know that he has checked for some of my stuff in the past, and the fact that he even knew my name was crazy to me… I had to do something classic and timeless with the homie…. Thats exactly what we did.
